1 WIN, 1 LOSS FOR RING OF HONOR CHAMPIONS AT NASHVILLE PRO WRESTLING EVENT
NASHVILLE, TN (Sunday, May 26, 2013) -- Two of the world's top-ranked professional wrestlers encountered opposite results in Nashville Pro Wrestling's debut Friday, May 24, at the Old Hickory Community Center.
Davey Richards made his first Nashville appearance since 2008 but ended the night with a pinfall loss to Yaden Matthews in the main event. The win marked the Nashville debut for Matthews, a former heavyweight champion in Colorado and Ohio. Richards, a former Ring of Honor champion, entered the event ranked No. 7 in the world according to Pro Wrestling Illustrated.
Kyle O'Reilly, a current Ring of Honor tag team champion, defeated Antonio Garza and Shawn Shultz to win the three-man Flightweight Cup qualifying match. O'Reilly will advance to the Flightweight Cup event scheduled for later this year.
Other match winners Friday were Christian Rose, Shawn Hoodrich, Brandon Espinosa, Matt Cage and Team IOU (Nick Iggy and Kerry Awful).
